So we celebrated Tallula's birthday Hawaiin style with a birthday luau. It was fun with lots of yummy food! Big girl just started walking on Monday (finally!) She took her first steps at Nana's house in front of me and Grammy! I know she will soon be running to keep up with her big sisters.
I was in Texas for a week to help out my sis since my nephew was in the hospital. I had fun being the nanny/auntie for my nieces and my other nephew. I know now what it will be like when all the girls are in school! (Busy!) Thankfully little LJ is home and doing better. I also got to see my brother and sis-in-law and my newest nephew! Too cute. I especially love the chin cleft cause I have one too :) hahaha
We just found out today that Kev is officially a supervisor! He is excited for the new opportunity and a change. The only down side is he loses his every-other-week off Wednesday, but will be getting home earlier in the day, so it will be an adjustment, but we'll be okay.
Natalie is doing great in school, she really likes it. She is already writing her name! I really can't believe it. Penelope is my helper when Nat is at school. She likes to help me around the house.
This past weekend I got to go with some girlfriends to Palm Desert for a night. It was such a fun and relaxing time! Kevin was nice enough to watch all three girls for me! We ate good food, played cards and went swimming. And of course some good shopping!
So that's whats going on with us for now... definitely been busy... I'll put new pics up soon when I get another minute! Tata for now!

We've been busy!
Sea World was a blast. We went with the Clemons family. The girls loved it. They are still talking about the "fishy place." We saw the Shamu show, the dolphin show and a pets show. That was the girl's favorite. They keep talking about it and laughing. It was a great day for all of us.
Camping was last weekend and we were gone for 4 days. We went up to Rock Creek Lake which is near Mammoth. It was a lot of fun. We went with my parents and the Stauffers. It was nice to get away. Kev got in a tiny bit of fishing and the girls got in a whole lot of dirt. All of them. On Saturday we went up into Mammoth and had lunch and went in shops, which is always fun to do. My Mom and I also got to play some Scrabble. I actually won a few times! (that normally never happens). We had great weather until the last night and it got super windy. I could feel the wind come up underneath the tent and under our airbed! We left the next morning because it was just too windy to do anything!
On our way home from camping we drove by Mt. Whitney. Kevin and I want to hike it next year. So in February we have to apply for the lottery for the permit needed to hike and camp up there, so we are keeping our fingers crossed. It also means we are going to have to start training for it soon too!
Natalie started school this week. She seemed so much older. Already she is making friends and having fun. I think Penelope will be okay since we are trying to keep her busy while her big sis is gone. And Tallula really doesn't care yet! haha We are now gearing up for Miss Lu's birthday! 2 weeks away. We are going to have a Luau. So that will be fun. I'll put pics up... thats it for now, we are planning on a relaxing weekend at home...

Nat's birthday, a recap
So here are the pics from Natalie's 4th birthday. She got breakfast in our bed and had a fun day afterwards. We went to the VV mall and had Panda Express for lunch (her fav) and then she and her sisters went and played at the "squishy" park that is inside the mall. That night we celebrated with a cake and her choice for dinner. She chose eggs. I told her she could have whatever she wanted and that is what she came up with. Papa and Grammy joined us for the festivities. It was a fun day and she had a blast. If you look at the pic of Penelope you can see her new haircut I gave her that day too. I cut it all off since it was looking really scraggly. In the back you can now see all her little curls, so cute. Tallula as you can see still is pretty bald... but if you see her in person she is growing a little bit of hair. As I tell everybody, they normally get hair around their 2nd birthday.
Tallula is getting so big! Her 1st birthday is only a month away. She is into EVERYTHING! I'm so glad that mostly everything is babyproofed, but she manages to get into stuff and fast! One minute she'll be right by me, the next she is way across the house. She will pull herself up on furniture and now she'll let go and stand alone for a few seconds. Walking will be soon. Both Nat and Pen both walked right around their first birthdays, so I figure she will do the same.
So thats all for now. We are hanging out at home today. It seems like we have been so busy. So I am trying to catch up with cleaning and laundry... fun stuff :)

Natalie's Birthday Eve
So tomorrow is Natalie's 4th Birthday. Wow. I really can't believe she will be 4! Yesterday we got a letter for the orientation for her pre-school. I seriously got tears in my eyes thinking about it. It doesn't seem to be real that 4 years have passed already. We have been watching the Olympics and I keep remembering that I would watch them late at night when she first came home from the hospital. Time is flying by and it makes me realize how precious these first years are. Granted they can be really hard, but they go by so fast and one day soon enough they will be gone. So on this day, Nat's birthday eve, I plan on soaking in all the little things the girls do. Even if it is them dirtying up the clean kitchen floor(which they did already today). hahaha

Tuesday, Tuesday
So this week Natalie is going to VBS (vacation bible school). I now feel like a true mom. (I know, as if birthing 3 has not made me a mom). I have been dropping her off in the morning and then picking her back up at noon. This is something I have never done on a consistant basis. If I ever do drop her off or any of the girls, it is almost always with family. So this is totally new. I know I have to get used to it since she will be starting pre-school next month, but it is weird! But Penelope, Tallula and I have been keeping busy while she is there. Yesterday we went to Papa's house and Pen played by herself the entire time. I could hear her singing upstairs. Tallula and I helped Papa finish a project. Ok, she watched from the pack n' play, I helped. Today the three of us went to my friend's mom's house and we took a walk up in Wrightwood. Hot! Hills! So yah my legs are burning... good burn though. So that has been our week thus far... Natalie is enjoying VBS. So that is good. Kev gets to take her tomorrow since its his day off (hooray!) I think I will now go try to get a little nap in before everybody wakes up... :)

Johnny Carino's- A Tale of Poor Service
So we went out to dinner last night at Johnny Carino's. It is a favorite of ours, but we haven't been in a while. We got there kind of late for us, since Kev didn't get home from work till 6:30. Here's what happened. We got seated right away(which was nice). But our server didn't even come by to say hello for over 20 minutes!!! Not even to take a drink order! So yah, thats how it started. When she finally said hello, she said "I'll be right back." Yah, another 5-10 minutes. Trying not to be rude and upset when she finally showed up again we ordered our food. And waited... again... We had our bread, which the girls devoured. And waited... We had time to play games with the baby, I nursed her too and took the older girls to the bathroom! When Nat, Pen and I got back to the table our food was there, hooray! Then I took a bite of mine and guess what? It was cold!!! So she took it back... Kev was steaming! At least the girls got to eat and Kev too and I stole some bites from him, so I was okay, but really! When she came back with it she apologized (kind of) and said I could choose a dessert for free. Ok, so that was nice. But seriously, it took like another 1/2 hour from there to get our check and the dessert and boxes for our food to take home! We didn't leave there till after 8. That is the kids bedtime, so we weren't able to go to the Dollar Tree (which I might add is one of our favorite stores). We had to go home! Anyways, it was kind of dramatic, I really can't handle poor service... But we came home and put the girls to bed and Kev and I bid on stuff on ebay... Wow what a night! :) hahaha

Lets get this party started!
Okay, here we go. I've been contemplating blogging for quite some time and today has been somewhat dull, so here I am. I haven't quite decided what kind of blog this will be. For now I thought it would be fun to write about our lives. We shall see what happens down the line.
We are the Boms. Currently there are 5 of us. Kevin is my husband (the head Bom). I am Holly (the head female Bom). And our little 3 Boms are Natalie (eldest Bom, about to be 4 years old), Penelope (the middle Bom 2 1/2 years) and Tallula (the baby Bom, 10 months).
Yes, I know our last name is kind of funny, so I thought I'd go with it...
So here we are. I am a stay at home mommy and Kevin is a social worker. We have been married for 5 years now. And can I say -it has been an adventure. We live in a little desert town about 15 minutes from where I grew up. Kev however, is an import all the way from Orange county, CA. We met in college 8 years ago at Cal State Univ. Fullerton. He was the perfect student with the 4.0 GPA, and perfect attendance record to go with it. I was the B/C average student who enticed him to skip classes with me to go to the beach. It was fun... We both graduated in '02, he in the winter and I in the spring. The next June we got married. As they say, "the rest is history."
So that is how we started, but it was only the begining...
